Jacob Jan Coenraad Spohler was taught by his father Jan Jacob, and proved to be a good student by specialising in landscapes, with both summer and winter views. He particularly painted ice pleasures with many figures: snow-covered farmlands along mirroring ice fields with swaying skaters and a biscuit stand, rendered in infinite variations. J.J.C. Spohler lived and worked in Amsterdam and exhibited his paintings regularly, including at the Living Masters exhibitions.
